Jack doesn't have the cough Grif has but he sure has a ton of snot. He still is cute though. He didn't get to bed til 11 last night but he slept til 8 today! Woohoo! Unfortunately I only got to sleep from 12-6.

crazy day
I have been to the bank 3 times today. I won't complain about it here, but I don't really want to see those people for a few days.
The apt a/c went out sometime in the last day. Finally got it fixed at 3:30. Lightning blew a fuse on the main unit that runs the 3 units (us and the 2 people below me). Crazy huh? Just glad it is back on.
We are putting Grif back into 1st grade. He is struggling in every subject. He isn't following directions. He is just plain unhappy & overwhelmed. I am sad it has come to this but at the same time I am relieved. This change will be made in the next few days.
We are doing football fund raisers. I need to know close families favorite pro or college football teams, give me your top 2-3 teams. Email me, k?

week 2 football recap
Week 2:Unlimited Chargers vs. Coconut Creek Eagles
Final Score: Unlimited Chargers 34, Coconut Creek Eagles 16
The Unlimited Chargers finished the day with a decisive 37-14 win over the Eagles in Coconut Creek. The tone for the offense was set by Daniel Paponettis 80 TD run and special teams play by AJ Blanc (60 Kick return) and Marcus Bethell (40 yard Punt return for a TD). Razeil Vargas (7 tackles, 2 sacks fumble recovery) led the defenses successful effort to keep the Eagles from retaliating. Offensive Stats: Daniel Paponetti (rushing 6 carries 137 yards, 2 TDS, 2 XP conv), AJ Blanc (rushing 6 carries 47 yards, TD XP conv), Marcus Bethell (2 carries 43 yards XP conv), Riley Leeper (2 carries 13 yards) Other Defensive Stats: Denzel Paige (10 tackles sack), Daniel Paponetti (6 tackles), Riley Leeper (6 tackles, sack), Jeffery Ivory (5 tackles, sack), Ty Vassil (4 tackles), AJ Blanc (2 tackles 1 INT).
It fails to mention, one of those touchdowns was Rileys! I of course missed the play due to trying to be mom to baby and be a football mom at the same time. Didn't help any that I was sitting near the 20yard line on the other side of the field either. Tomorrow I have Chris and the grandparents helping me watch and take care of the boys.

Amazon King
a break
Ri's football coach asked the kids to recruit a few BIG guys to tryout for a linebacker position. Ri had his friend come out. He made the team. The best part is I only have to take them both to practice, his mom will bring them home! This means I can give Grif a bath at 7:30 and he can be in bed at 8:30 instead of getting home at 9. Ri and his friend walk to school together. They look like giants when they are together. Most of Ri's regular friends are little guys. This one is 6' and 225! I don't worry about anyone messing with them. Well, except possibly alligators and with all the sprints they do at practice they should be able to outrun anything.
Grif has a PTC on Monday. I am unsure if this is because there is a serious problem or if it is just customary to meet the parents one on one right away. I am sure in his case it is a bit of both. Grif is being REALLY soft spoken lately and he just can not seem to memorize the math addition facts. I really don't want to put him back to 1st. I hope we can get him to try harder.
Cam had a stomach ache Tuesday morning. Ri had one Wednesday evening. Grif complained of one this morning. Grif is also stuffed up. Jack has goopy eyes. Can you tell it is the first week of school?

3rd day
Well, things are going smoothly so far this week. I am beyond busy though. There really isn't enough hours in my day. I realize it will slow down in the next few weeks only to pick up once the holidays come closer.
Ri's football practices have been dropped to 4 days a week. (THANK YOU!) Unfortunately I still have to take Ri to and from whatever he is doing that night, the night being Friday. He informed me they are leaning towards the movies this week vs ice skating. He has entered the stage where he forgets to ask. Cam just left that stage and he is remembering his manners once again. Ri asked if he would get in trouble if he switched his electives. He so doesn't want to do art. He and I differ so much on this spectrum. I really could care less.
I didn't walk Grif to the school today. I just dropped him off in front like we did last year. He was fine with it. He was complaining of a sore throat this morning. I found 2 chewable Tylenol and he will be good for the day. (his day is only 6 hours) I can't believe the sickies have already started. Much too soon. I am sure all the back to school shopping helps the germs to pass earlier and earlier. We are working on memorizing math facts. He is not good at this at all. He can memorize spelling words just fine. I think I will make his write out math facts just like I make him do spelling words and see if that helps. Ri suggested bribing him with $ when he can get so many right within a certain time frame. He will be tested on Thursdays for certain batches. Can't move on til you pass.
I looked over my receipt from Office Max yesterday and realized the dividers I got for the kids were 21.99! It was a pack of 25. I returned them this morning. I got different ones, 5 packs of 5 for 75 cents each. Much better. The total was 74.99 for Cam and Ri, Chris wanted to know why so high, I didn't think much of it since Grif's was 35$ just for him. I ran to Home Depot and picked up ant spray as well. I have these mini ants all over my bathroom floor. If I didn't have white tile I may never have seen them. They are so tiny!
Cam's ceramic class is making a huge tile mosaic of a dragon for the front entrance. He is excited about this. I am thankful he found something to enjoy about this year. I won't see much of him between work, school and his friends. He will be 18 soon so I guess I might as well get used to it now.
Jack was playing catch with us yesterday. Okay, it was more of a hot potato game but he isn't afraid of the ball and he caught it most of the time and he has a very good throw on him. Unfortunately he loves to throw everything. He has gotten 2 more teeth this week for a total of 8. He won't let you look at them so we have to hold him upside down and tickle him to take a peek. Chris took over baby duty at 9:30 last night and let me read and I got to go to bed at 10pm! That was wonderful. I even woke up and took a bath before my alarm went off.

first day of school
I feel so accomplished today. I woke up at 6am. Checked to make sure Cam was up. I checked on Jack. (he was still asleep in his toddler bed) I decided to take a quick bath. Get done, toss on clothes. Wake Grif up, take his clothes out for him as he is barely functioning. Make his lunch, get his breakfast ready. I then Get Jack up, change him in to clothes, feed him some dry cereal and a cup of chocolate milk. Fill up a water bottle for Grif as we are going to walk to the school. Cam's ride comes. (he won't walk, it is under a mile, his hair will curl up in the humidity, he is just as vain as his dad was! Drives me batty as I could care less what my hair does once I leave the house)
I wake up Riley and Jack, Grif and I walk to the elementary school. {It is humid out, Grif is sweating so bad his hair is drenched and sweat is in his eyes. I feel bad. } We wait in the correct lines and they start going in the school. I remind him his class is the first turn after the library, his room is 1 2 2 , and tell him his teachers name a million more times. I left and then feel INCREDIBLY guilty as 1/2 the parents are walking the kids in. I almost go back but then figured the worst happens is he freaks out, cries and he has to tell a teacher he is lost. I am trying to make him earn a bit more self confidence. He needs to speak up. I don't want to be a bully parent either.
I see Ri walking to school, well I see him and his friend meet up with GIRLS and then walk to school. I tell him school is the other way. He has plenty of time though. I am not ready for round #2. lol He is wearing his football jersey to help recruit a few BIG players for open tryouts today and tomorrow. Of course the jersey will attract a few extra girls we don't need! lol
Jack and I come home. Call a lady who has a pack n play play pen. I run to the bank, stop at BK for breakfast for Jack and I and to break a 20$. They sold everything but that so she just wanted 15$ for it. I get it and it is much newer and a nicer model than my old one. It is the John Lennon Imagine pattern with wheels and a side pocket. It doesn't look used at all! I am so happy I called. The lady who placed the ad lives north of us, about an hour but it was at her MIL's who lives in my town. She works at the mall, so I met her there.
I come home. Set it up. I am done with my morning stuff by 9:30 am. I need to go renew library books online and I can relax until 2 when I get Grif. Chris is off today, but who knows when he will be awake. He has been working long hours this week. I will let him sleep as long as he wants. He just better not expect me to stay up past 10 tonight cause I won't be able to.

Jack-my TROUBLE maker
Jack is just so full of himself. He is just too cute for his own good. Those baby blues and chunky cheeks with dimples make him just too adorable for anyone to say no to. I however have no problem with the no's he just doesn't listen. lol
He is 14 months. He hasn't even attempted to walk. He cruises the furniture. He is just now getting up to a standing position with no help. I suppose it will come sometime but he is so farther behind on the milestones than his brothers were. He doesn't say much either but he is LOUD! He loves to hear himself.
Oh, we had an oops yesterday. Grif wanted to save Jack from his pack and play. Well, the weight between him and his brother was too much on the joint of the play pen. It snapped like a twig. Jack was an angel in that thing. He slept in there. He is a rooter. He would crawl into a corner when he sleeps. In a wood crib he would wake up when he did that as he bonked his head. BUT he slept fine in a mesh side enclosure. I added a second pad to the bottom to be more comfortable. I went looking for a replacement yesterday. I found none I could afford. We have a toddler bed, but that does nothing to keep him contained. And he needs containment! I found him and the cat in the fridge a few weeks back! I will be watching the ads/craigslist/garage sales.
Favorites...Blue's Clues, cell phones, tv remotes, power buttons, eye glasses, jewelry, pens. Anything he really isn't suppose to have. Good thing he is my last cause I would have said no more after him. lol I am getting too old to be quicker than him!

Grif-big boy
My Griffin isn't such a little kid anymore. Truth be told he is getting a tad chunky. (Grandma reminds me that they all go thru this) Soccer signups are in the next few weeks. We will definately be doing that again. We we be walking to school for now. Unless it is raining and when fall comes, we will walk home too. It is just a mile. Surely we will all benifit from that. He is in a size 10! He was just in a 6 last year. Goodness what a growth spurt.
He struggled a bit in first grade when we got down here. I was very torn at the end of the school year wether to hold him back or not. I talked to a lot of people, looked thru the 2nd grade work books and decided to let him try 2nd. His size was one of the factors that I used when deciding. Ri is one of the largest in his class and everyone expects more from him. I didn't want the same to happen to Grif. Plus they say 2nd is basically a review of first. Time will tell. Not sure if I did the right thing. Kids need instruction manuals. You would think after having 2 already past this stage I would know the right answer but each kid is SO different.
His favorite things to do are play in the pool, go to Grandma Diane's/Papa Bob's, play daddy's PSP, watch AFV, color, go to beach, play playdoh, wrestle with daddy and play online. Speaking on online, Grif was the last person to use the kids computer when either the mother board or the hard drive died. I don't think he could have done anything to it, but he misses playing the Nick games on line. The older boys are using the lap top til I can scrimp/save on enough money to get a new kids computer. (the house sale is in escrow, holding our breath ) The computer is going on 8 years, not even gonna try and fix it.
We saw his class on Friday. At least he is not anxious this year. He knows the school. Knows a few people. This makes things much easier on me. Hopefully I can enforse early bedtime this week. Mornings will come EARLY. (Grif goes 8-2, Cam 7:30-2:30, Ri 9-4)

Riley-my amazon
My Amazon son. Gosh, it gives me a neck ache to gaze up apon him. lol He is a hair under 6'. Literally just a hair. Well, that was 5 weeks ago, he could be over that mark now. His shoe size is 11.5. He weighs in between 143-150 depending on how much he has eaten that day. Very lean.
He is LOVING football. Practice is 5 days a week. 6:30-9, but I am promised it will only go to 8:30 now that school is in session, we will see. He plays a game on Saturdays at approx 6pm. He is the 7th team to play, so if there are any delays, his game gets pushed back. If it is pushed back too far we get a midweek game to make it up. This makes for very long Saturday nights. (esp for mom who has to entertain Jack and while attempting to watch the entire game, Chris only gets every other Sat off). Ri plays both offence and defence this year. I missed a big play yesterday when Jack was being difficult. Oops, bad mom. More about that on Friday after I have the paper to copy from. :)
He is non stop busy. Friday nights are ice skating nights {11$}. The rink is seconds from the apt but who is gonna let their son walk thru the field where alligators live in the canal/pond after dark. Not this mom! Thankfully he has tons of friends and one of their parents brings him home. I HATE dragging his brothers out at 12:30am for a 10 minute round trip car ride, not to mention 3 flights of stairs for sound asleep kids. Everyone treats him like he is older because he is so tall. I have to remind everyone is is only 13! He has discovered the bus system. He and his friends are at the mall right now. Btwn him and Cam we go thru gobs of quarters for bus rides. (bus is 60 cents each way for under 18, still less than gas for me however)
He starts 8th grade tomorrow. I am sure there will be even more girls calling than normal. There will be more guys at the door for hanging out. Afternoons at the pool. (I didn't mention how TAN he is!) Sundays at the mall. And let us not forget his phone that is attatched to him 24-7! Let round 2 of the teenage years begin now!

last day of summer-Cameron
Today is the last day of summer for the boys. Cameron is at a water park with friends. I pray he keeps a shirt on the whole time he is there and remembers sunscreen on the other parts. We discussed this but as we all know 17 year boys only listen 1/2 way to their moms. Last sun day was a month ago at the beach and he forgot his feet and I heard him moan and groan for at least 4 days straight!
He is working at Hollister part time. He seems to like it. He needs to pass his FCATs (Florida's exit test to graduate high school). He is only a few points shy on both, unlike CA and NV, it isn't all multi-choice. The math was because there is a lot of Algebra 2 on it, and he hasn't taken that. He doesn't need anymore math credits but he will take a semester of that to be able to learn what he needs to pass. He will also take a reading class to help him pass that part too. He only needs 2 credits to graduate, English and Government, but they don't have a reduced class schedule for seniors in our town. I told him 2nd semester if he has passed that test, he can switch to online classes or adult high to finish up so he can work more hours. He is so ready to be done with it.
Our last convo in the car was about how if he stays in Fl after graduation he will find an apt in Ft Lauderdale. We will see. He changes his mind more often that Grif changes clothes and that is TONS! Everyday I am reminded how old I am getting!

This was what the paper said about Rileys week 1 football game. It comes out on Fridays, the games are played the Saturday prior. They are the unlimited weight class. He can stay in this league one more year or he can try out and play freshman or JV high school ball next year.
